006 - Yosakoi

June 5, 2008 – 9:14 am

On this week’s show:

  • Yosakoi Soran Matsuri
  • Listener Question, from Allison, “How much Japanese is necessary for daily life.”
  • Japanese Chit-Chat
  • Magical Experiences sans Lawyers

A special note, this show is not being released under Creative Commons because copyrighted music was used. I did not ask for permission, though I do believe this can qualify as fair use. I used less than 30 seconds of the music, and I derived no monetary benefit from it. I would encourage everyone to go on iTunes and get “Umekichi - Soran Bushi” because it is good music. It was always my intention to educate, never to steal.

  1. One Response to “006 - Yosakoi”

  2. Thanks for answering my questions! I do have some Japanese already. For instance I know hiragana, katakana and probably around 100 kanji. I do have the basics of speaking too. I was just wondering about the level required for daily use which you answered quite well, thank you! And thanks for the comparison between learning there versus your learning back home. I’m Canadian so probably my classroom experiences have been quite similar to yours. My most recent Japanese class had 25 people.

I have another question if you feel like two in a row for me. How much, approximately I guess, does food cost you? Day-to-day, each week on average? Do you go to restaurants often? What sorts of food do you eat? All that sort of thing ^^ A food segment basically.

Once again, thanks for answering my questions! Another interesting listen.
