Wow, you are one determined student. JLPT level 2? Good luck to you! Also, I enjoyed the discussion about cleaning the bathroom and katakana. I had a very similar experience when I first went to clean my bathroom here (the humidity makes mold grow like crazy). As for katakana, right now I find that it makes things easier for me, since I am still at a fairly basic Japanese level. However, I can definitely see where you are coming from.
